Anyone have any experience with a signal amplifier/repeater for +Verizon Wireless?  I have some family that just moved to a new home out in the country, they get a signal, but very weak and drops often.  Thanks in advance for any guidance you can provide.

So as mentioned earlier, I'm trying to help +Kayla Sewell win a pretty awesome prize from the people over at Sphero. She's been stealing my Sphero daily to chase our cat with it and I think it's time she had her own.

As a big Nyan Cat fan (all thanks to +Benji Hertel a few years back) she demanded that I do everything I could to help her win this Sphero

The way she wins is to

a) have the best screenshot (this screenshot she has is of the final moments in the final level where things get crazy, most people don't seem to be making it past the 3'rd level before posting a screenshot) 

and

PSA - Nightlies

As many of you have noticed, we have started releasing nightlies based on the Android 4.2.2 merger into the CM 10.1 branch, most recently including the HTC evita, jewel, and ville. In light of that, we’d like to take a moment to touch on something that has been affecting us lately. 

Some folks have seemingly forgotten (or were never fully aware) what nightly builds are for. 

Nightlies are not released as an end product. 
What does this mean? It means they are built, automatically and periodically, with no human intervention and no audience in mind whatsoever. They are not verified before being published, and their principal purpose is to compile code and see if it builds on a per device basis. Build failed? That’s a positive result. Build completed? That’s a positive result.

Quick guide to a faster, stabler Android:  triple wipe, clear dalvik, reset battery stats, format /system regularly, limit the clock when screen is off, use random schedulers (the less characters in its name, the better), amusingly-named CPU governors (the more your 8-year old giggles at its name, the better), and top it off with an off-spec LCD density for improved app compatibility. And now the new hotness, use the less-than-random non-blocking PRNG to mess up the pool used by cryptography and apparently nothing else.

Equivalent guide for a faster, stabler car: Paint flames on the side doors, and hammer a 4x2 plank to the trunk's lid.

Made a go at parents of the year tonight. So we were making reindeer food with the kids to sprinkle out on the yard. We had the cinnamon out so I had the bright idea of bringing up starting a new tradition of seeing which kid could eat a spoonful, my idea was kind of in jest mind you. Trina proceeds to load up 3 spoonfuls and puts it in front of each kid. Ryan, our youngest, is fearless (and very trusting), so he throws his head back and puts the whole spoon in his mouth...up next was 5 minutes of gagging and crying. Oh Holy Night!
