+Raimo van der Klein staat op het punt zijn nieuwe bedrijf te lanceren. Maar er moet, zoals je ziet, nog heel wat gebeuren voordat vrijdag de open dag kan plaatsvinden. 

Afgelopen vrijdag was ik bij hem op bezoek op het terrein van De Overkant in Amsterdam (Noord) om te zien wat iFabrica (http://www.ifabrica.nl/) gaat worden. 

Raimo heeft meer dan een decennium in de voorhoede van de mobiele telecom gewerkt (van 2G naar 3G/mobiel internet en apps) en is nu helemaal offline. En dan ook echt helemaal offline. Back to basics: het echte handwerk. 

iFabrica is een omgeving waar jij en ik en iedereen met een hobby spullen kan maken. Er staat professionele apparatuur voor hout- en metaalbewerking, naaimachines en 3D-printers van Shapeways. Daarnaast: vergaderruimte en plek om workshops te geven.

JONATHAN CHRISTOPHER KENDALL   (1962-2013)

With the greatest of sorrow I, +su ann lim , have to inform you that Jonathan Christopher Kendall, my fiancé and love of my life, died suddenly last night on 15 June 2013.  Despite the incredible efforts of our friends +Suzanne Jacob +Gaynal Brierley , paramedics and ambulance personnel he could not be revived.

Jonathan lived as he believed, telling it like it is, with wit and humour, enjoying life to the hilt, with honour, directness and compassion.  I was incredibly blessed to be the recipient of his immense love, and as each other's beloved, to share unbelievable happiness for too short a time.   Jonathan, I LOVE YOU with all my heart and miss you desperately.

Jay Z heeft kort geleden volgens diverse bronnen een mega deal gesloten met Samsung en deze afbeelding laat waarschijnlijk één van de eerste meldingen zien van deze samenwerking. Ik denk dat we Jay Z morgen zullen zien schitteren met een product van Samsung.

You know, here on G+ we like to bitch a lot about Facebook's #privacy settings which seem to be inadequate when set, and insane on default. But here, on safe G+ grounds, the (new) 'linked apps' on our public profiles is default set to public (or 'circlees'?) as well: Show Apps card on your Google+ profile is checked. So who are we to make fun of those folks over on Facebook? 

(I'm taking +Brendan Thesingh 's profile as example, as he's a sort-of public figure after all. And he's one of the few that has connected with any app besides +CircleCount . And he doesn't use dodgy apps.  At all. Although, personally  I do find any interest in banjos a tad odd. But in exchange I'll promise to participate in the next caption contest.)
