Landscape Photography Show13,036*Landscape Photography Show #47: Lines* Lines can have a huge impact on the composition of your photograph and there are many kinds.  Horizontal, vertical, and diagonal lines will create different moods.  Leading lines are extremely powerful when they lead to the object of your photograph.  The sweeping "S curve" adds the power of a strong leading line with a softer more tranquil treatment.  Here are a few short articles that will help you get the idea.  Please read them before posting. http://www.picturecorrect.com/tips/how-to-use-lines-in-photography-compositions/ http://digital-photography-school.com/composition-and-the-power-of-line/ http://digital-photography-school.com/how-to-use-leading-lines-for-better-compositions/ Use Google search to find other content on the power of lines. *Special Rules* 1.  Share your landscape photograph that displays a scene where you have used "Lines". 2.  In a comment on the photograph tell us about this photograph. Where is this place located?  What were you trying to achieve?  What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?   We want to know the details about your photograph. THE COMMENT IS REQUIRED. 3.  Other participants will be discussing how you used this technique and asking you questions.  Please join the discussion on other photographs as well. 4.  This event is all about PARTICIPATION and DISCUSSION.  Please don't post a photo and leave.  The LPS reserves the right to remove photos without your comment.    *General Rules:* 1) Your photo MUST be ORIGINAL.  If you post the work of someone else, you will be removed from the event. 2) You MUST have complete EXIF data for your photo.  Within the event, select your photo and view it large.  Look for the "photo details" on the right.  It should be complete with the date the photo was taken, camera and lens information, ISO, f stop, speed etc.  Photos that don't have complete EXIF data will be removed.  Others will learn from seeing what you have done. 3) Only ONE photograph per person is allowed.  If you submit more than one photo, all of your photos will be removed. 4) Circle the @114888971165518552849  page. 5) Photos must be posted no later than Monday, August 24, 2015, 10 am CDT.  Those posted after that time will be removed. 6) Curator favorites will be shared to the @105588730866970114510 theme page.  Circle the curators and engage them in conversation.  You will learn lots from them!! 7) Curators of the @114888971165518552849 and @105588730866970114510  theme may participate. 8) Technical Requirements: Enable "sharing" on your photo.  If it receives honors, we want to be able to share it!!  Enable "comments" on your photo.  We want to say how great it is!!  Enable "plus ones" so everyone can give it a big plus!! *Voting:* Feel free to leave positive encouraging comments on the entries at any time.  You know our photographers will love the attention.  Engage in conversation and see what you can learn!! The Harford County Public Library held their annual juried photography exhibition. This year's theme was Extraordinary Glimpses. 44 photographers submitted 82 photos and there were 24 finalists. I got second with this photo from the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Department open house and my rock climber was a finalist. I'm a step closer to my goal of retiring to Tahiti.

For #WordlessOnWednesday  I'm going to mention a package that should have been wordless. I received a 3" Christmas tree ornament that has a picture of the Grinch and a wreath. There is a tiny red LED light on the wreath. The package said it is for ornamental use only. I don't want to know how else people use a 3" plastic ball.
