Central Indiana Resistance agent ViciousOrca ( +Kenny Fox ) designed and executed one of the most impressive pieces of field art I have ever seen.
This was done overnight. These are actual fields created in game.
Just to clarify, I did not make this amazing piece of art. I am just sharing it with all of you. All credit goes to Kenny. Say hi to him in comm.

With #Ingress Scanner v1.25.2 deployed to all Agents, there is now a rising XM cost for deploying Resonators and Portal Mods, and firing Xmps. The higher level the item, the more XM is required. The introduction of Power Cubes and ability to recycle unneeded items should help Agents in the field, and as always we'll be scanning for Agents' feedback.

28 hours L8r (speedrun, lvl1 to 8)
This weekend, Munich Enlightened Agent veneficia (+Deborah Tolkien) completed a speedrun from level 1 to 8 in about 28 hours! Before playing for the Enlightened, she was one of the most motivated players of the Resistance and had already reached level 8. Meeting many agents in the field, she realised that most of her new friends were playing for the Enlightened. After a while veneficia applied for a faction change. During the discussion about how long she would need to get back to L8, the idea of a speedrun came up. Plans were made, many Enlightened agents farmed items, and after her scanner turned green, several agents accompanied her to help in achieving this record.

So over on the main G+ Ingress group (ok, the other main group), some Russian wanted a plot summary. I put together the following, figured I'd share it here too for feedback, and see if any of you can teach me something I've missed:

I know that in the first six hours we have 75,000 hits on the download, which is pretty cool.

We've got a lot of work to do but we've got some great partners kicking in and the team is really motivated. We have a chance to profoundly change the historical balance of #Linux as a follower of PCs. This is better than Windows 8 as an experience, that's not a crazy thing to say, serious people in industry are saying 'that's better than Windows 8' [on tablets].

Open software group files complaint against Microsoft to EU

In its 14-page complaint, Hispalinux said Windows 8 contained an "obstruction mechanism" called UEFI Secure Boot that controls the start-up of the computer and means users must seek keys from Microsoft to install another operating system. The group said it was "a de facto technological jail for computer booting systems ... making Microsoft's Windows platform less neutral than ever".

Brackenfell Mural: Today after visiting the portal an angry looking individual gave me the evil eye as I drove by. He arrived as I was busy with the portal. I waved friendlily, but that did seem to lighten his mood. Whoever goes there might have to be prepared to deal with an annoyed resident.

On a mailing list I'm a member of, I fellow member posted this as a quote:
Yep, the governing body instructed me to ensure that the kids can all work on the departmental CAPS system as of term 1 2012. They are not to do computer literacy but content subjects ? specifically Mathematics ? using the SA schools curriculum. This is absolutely not available on Linux. So we threw out ALL our PC?s and monitors en mass. We have purchased 2 powerful servers to serve Windows Multi-Point Server ? 15 work stations each. There are no computers ? just little attachments on the backs of all the flat screen monitors. So I now have 2 headaches and not 28 as before. It is an exciting new direction with lots of new stuff to learn. On the other hand it is sad that we have lost Linux ? although we still have a Linux Firewall for me to play on. I have enjoyed the Linux experience altogether.
