It is with great excitement and at the same time sadness for me to announce that I will be leaving the +UCR Libraries. I accepted a job at +USC Viterbi School of Engineering. 

To my colleagues, I sincerely appreciate having had the opportunity to work with you and have enjoyed my time here at the UCR Libraries.

Thank you for the support, guidance, love, and encouragement you have provided me during my 15 years here. Even though I will miss my colleagues and the Libraries, I am looking forward to the challenges of my position and to starting a new phase in my career.

The jQuery Cycle Plugin is a slideshow plugin that supports many different types of transition effects. It supports pause-on-hover, auto-stop, auto-fit, before/after callbacks, click triggers and much more.

I found  +Michael Bastos session, *Plugin and Theme Refactoring for #WordPress * quite inspiring!  The session may have been geared toward WordPress developers, but it dealt with good programming habits in general. Say hello to your new profile page!

Google+ just updated the way your profile looks and I have to say I'm really, really happy about it. Things look cleaner, are more image-heavy, and less awkward than they were before. I think we all got used to how awkward cover photos were before (they weren't great) and I'm happy to see them change. I've included the big changed in the image below. Other changes include:

- Much better "About" layout showing who you have circled, two columns instead of one, and renaming "About me" to "Story" (which I think is much more human)
- Sticky basic info bar as you scroll down the page 
- Settings on your profile page are more visible
- Easier way to view your profile as public or as others
- Easier editing of your profile by each topic and much more extensive info available for job... more »
