So after I showed a friend my first #Minecraft  video, where most stuff was kinda cool but the tree farm really sucked, he asked me about... yes, the tree farm. He wanted to know what I was going to do and how it would work.

So, I set my PC to record as I set to task and created my (long over due) tree farm project.

It's not super huge, it's just for me to have wood and it's probably not the best design ever but it works quite well (better than I had anticipated actually) and is pretty easy to build.

So, I could never understand what the appeal of Minecraft was, just by seeing the odd video here and there but then my boys got into it.

So I got it, for them, and played. I played so that I could help them when they needed to do things. Because if you don't play, there's no way you can help. You'd never know how to craft stuff and do the things they'll need from you.

Long story short, a month later... I have this going on. So I decided to make a tour. It's my first real base. It's on a friend's server.

So my first visit to the new Google+ happened when I clicked on a link by +Robert Scoble.... and this is what I saw.

Now, most everything has changed and I'm ok with change... it may take some getting used to but what ever, change is progress.

But to see this, as the first impression I get... it was a bit shocking to say the least. I mean, talk about emptiness! I thought a plugin had gone crazy or Chrome went buggy. I'll be honest, it kinda freaked me out a little.

I took the tour and saw the other pages and features and I kinda like it but... they really need to do something about the individual post view.

Even the best schools are still bound by a fundamentally flawed education system, a one size, fits all system that tests and grades everyone equally despite what their strengths, weaknesses or other differences may be.

#Autism  and other special needs have forced many educations to focus on individualized education plans... a need not just for autistics but, truthfully, for everyone.

Talking to my son, Cameron, after school yesterday, he said that the only time he ever quits is when he know he can't do it. Like when he's running against his friend, he knows his friend is faster so he just quits since he can't win.

I thought about it for a second and explained it to him this way:

me: When you stop running, does he stop?
Cameron: No, he keeps running.
me: And what happens when he keeps running? What happens to your muscles when you run more?
Cameron: He gets faster?
me: Right. And will you get faster if you stopped?
Cameron: No.
me: So what will happen next time you run?
Cameron: I'll lose.

- Blue is NOT the color for autism. It's the color for Autism Speaks

- 1 in 50 is NOT the official numbers of autism diagnosis rates. It's the result of a phone survey of parents in which only 25k out of 95k parents bothered to answer. No facts checked. No records referred to.

- Autism does not coincide with a low IQ. A low IQ may be the result of a person with autism simply thinking differently or a lack of understanding of what is required in a test.

- Just because a person with autism can not speak, it does not mean that they do not understand. A child or adult can very likely understand every bit as well as their neurotypical age equivalent but just lack the ability to let you know that. So don't talk about them as if they don't.

April is #Autism  Acceptance Month

That means, rather than just being aware, I ask that you accept myself (I have Aspergers), my son (he has PDD-NOS) and all children and adults around the world that live with #Autism  every single day.

Even if you do not have autism yourself or a loved one with autism, I ask that you please take a moment to read the article below and if so inclined, even to pass it on.

Because no one bothers to learn about autism until after they are forced to. And that means you may have missed a lot of very valuable time.

If your own child or the child of a loved one has autism, will you recognize it? Will you miss out on much needed therapy and treatment opportunities because you didn't notice it soon enough? If you meet someone with autism, will you know just what may or may not be different about them? Will you know how to workwit... more »

If someone doesn't develop a Google Glass power level scouter that registers the Ki of people passing by, I'll be very disappointed.
