This image is just mind-blowing.  It was originally captured in 1927 at the Solvay Conference, attended by some of the most brilliant scientists in history. Notable attendees included Albert Einstein, Niels Bohr, Marie Curie, Erwin Schrödinger, Werner Heisenberg, Wolfgang Pauli, Paul Dirac and Louis de Broglie. More than half of the attendees went onto win the Nobel Prize in either Physics or Chemistry. Marie Curie actually won the prize in both fields. She remains the only scientist in history to have done so.

The original picture is black & white but a Swedish female artist successfully colorized it and posted it on reddit where it became an instant classic. Not only that, she's made it available on the internet for free.

Scientists at University of St Andrews in Scotland and the Institute of Scientific Instruments (ISI) in the Czech Republic have designed a minute but completely functional tractor beam.
Reminiscent of Star Trek, they use a beam of light to draw objects towards the light source on a microscopic level.

The new iOS 6 is here, with loads of nice new things. But, the Apple Maps of iOS6 really sucked big time. Roads missing, blackandwhite satellite photos with poor resolution... Yeah, for just about anyone living outside US big cities this was simply just a huge downgrade from google maps. The hyped presentation of San Fransisco wasnt very representative... to put it mildly. 

For me as a Swede, living in a rural town of 100 000 ppl, mostly using the maps for walking/biking this is now a useless product. 

Well, thank god for other maps products like citymaps2go and google earth.

So Apple is the Big Evil. Meanwhile Google just turns off and on the possibility to view movies and information in countries at their own discretion - like with the recent Muhammed-movie thats no longer available in countries like Egypt.
