Recently restored the "Birdcage" (as it affectionately known) is regarded as one of the finest examples of a Victorian bandstand still surviving in England. She was constructed in 1884 and has been battered by the coastal weather conditions ever since. She probably has quite a few stories to tell.

On Sunday the light, the warmth, and the slight breezes were all so perfect as I stopped at the unbelievable sweeping view captured so much better by other photographers.

I have a baby Nikon and am working on seeing what I can do with the wider shots, but here's a bit of the fog making it back into +The Streets of San Francisco. I loved seeing the boat zip around!

Fortius

Citius, Altius, Fortius is the Olympic motto: Faster, Higher, Stronger.  This is the Stronger part: the weight room in the U.S. Olympic Training Center, in Colorado Springs.  We got a private tour here with our group from USA Diving the other day (though we didn't see anything the public wouldn't except the real gymnastics gym).

I thought of this photo especially for #repetitivetuesday , not just because of the machines and plates, but also thinking about the process of lifting weights and the many hours of hard work.

As I'm often more into old style, I chose old over new technology this week :)

My dad cast this bell somewhere in the 60's or 70's at the Helsinki University of Technology (nowadays Aalto University). He also made a bigger one for my grandparents' summer cottage: it was on the roof and you pulled the rope standing on the ground. We could be rowing quite far away on the sea and still hear the dinner bell.

I've crossed the tracks many times at Hove Station (on the South Coast of England) via the pedestrian walkway and every time the view has simply been rails and lines. This time I was delighted to find four trains sitting idle side by side and not a figure n sight to get in the way of my shot! Bliss. This is a macro shot of our old garden roller that sits in our back garden enduring the seasons and all weathers year in and year out. I am fascinated by rust and other forms of corrosion, they are like visible diseases as you can watch them slowly spreading out and taking control weakening all that's around.

These are samples hanging on Wild Bill's root beer cart. Buy a cup and get an endless supply of root beer all day. The samples have holes in the bottom to prevent them from "walking away" when he is busy helping customers.
