Because of my work schedule, I'm actually seeing the results of the reveals a day late. I was so thrilled to see my entry for "Regret" got an Honourable Mention from +Barry Blanchard and second place vote from +lane langmade !!! Thanks so much judges!!

The story behind the shot. I have often worked with people who have lost loved ones , those who have terminal conditions, and I have lost loved ones also. I most often hear people saying they regret they didn't have enough time to do....or go.... or say.... or didn't get a chance to say they loved someone or say goodbye. If only there was just a little more time.

I knew exactly what I wanted to do for this image but I'm way too superstitous to have a model put on a toe tag so I had to set this up as a selfy at home-so these are my feet . It was a challenging to get this shot the way I wanted. I was reallywi... more »

This is what is currently happening upriver from us. This flow was entering a lake behind a dam. They were very concerned about the dam. They were releasing a lot of extra water and our river has risen quite a bit, as they prepared for this event!! What a powerful and awesome world we live in, eh? :))

"Light In Canyon X"

I did a quick edit on this photo from yesterday's adventure through Canyon X with +Colby Brown +Peyton Hale and +Casey McCallister. This, and most of my photos in the canyons so far, need only very basic Lightroom adjustments because the best part of shooting in this light and perfect limestone is that Mother Nature does all the work for you.

This is a busy time of year in rural California Rice Country. I have photographed this Sutter Buttte Duster many times but this was the first time I caught it on the ground. Right now they are busy seeding the acres of rice fields, only landing long enough to refill with seed then they are back in the air again. ~Strict Protocol- Alcatraz Dining Hall~

Finally made it out to Alcatraz Island. Interesting place full of history. Much more to see than just the cell house, though that was great. Nesting birds, gardens full of blooming flowers and of course the incredible views of San Francisco and the Bridges all made the trip worthwhile. This was one of the few shots I was able to snap before the room filled with other visitors. I didn't find the place to be spooky at all, but maybe the beautiful bright sunny spring day had something to do with that. After I took the audio tour I walked back through the cell house and was amazed by how incredibly quiet the entire place was even though the halls were packed with tourists. Everyone was listening to the audio tour and the side effect was an eerie silence.

~Iris~
Covered a lot of ground over the last few days. Rodeo in Red Bluff, a visit to Lassen National Park, a trip to Alcatraz, some roaming around San Francisco and a few hundred miles of backroads traveled between those places. A lot of fun and a ton photos later I'm ready for a truly lazy day. Here is a flower from Alcatraz, a beautiful iris that didn't require anything but a crop and a resize.
